I have lived here for a little over a year. I stayed because I have a dog, and this is one of the few places that allows pets. However, I really hate it here. I live in a 1st floor 2 BR/2 BA apt and the rent (which includes pet rent) is over $1350 per month! It seems they have capped the water bills because it is usually a flat amount each month now. I have these AWFUL house cetipedes that are everywhere. I asked for an exterminator, and he came once and sprayed a couple of spots but it did no good and he was very smart assed about it so I just bought my own insect control. Closet doors are constantly coming off the track, and it takes maintenance forever to come out and fix it...and when they do, they do a half ass job (like they don't fix all the doors you told them to fix.) We were told that the HVAC area could be used as storage, but later when the fire marshall declared that nothing could be stored there, we were forced to move all of our stuff out of there and told that we could get a storage facility at our own expense! When the AC did not work over the summer, it was more than a week before they came out to fix it, and we were told this was not an emergency issue so they would get to it when they get to it. We had to buy fans in order to survive. The blinds on the windows constantly break, but when it finally fell down in my son's room, the office people said that I had better do something to make sure my red curtains were not showing from the outside! They offer covered parking but you have to pay extra! The screen door on my slider comes off the track constantly because it is not the right size even though we told them that was the problem...and the crowning glory in all of this is that our hot water heater runs out within about 5 minutes and the water turns cold while you are in the shower. After more than a year of complaining about this, and many many many service calls, we just gave up. The maintenance guy just comes out and adjusts the temperature (which is not the problem) and then when it fails again the next guy comes out and reverses what the first guy did. The outside call box on our building has been broken ever since we have been here, and there has never been any attempt to fix it. We have only stayed because we have moved around a few times and want our son to be able to stay in the same elementary school which is a nice one. They don't care if you are happy here because they have a monopoly on the area due to the fact that it is hard to find a place to rent that allows pets. My opinion is that it is way way too expensive for what you get, though.

Try Emerald Woods in Forest Hill. No real amenities but it's more affordable and they allow pets. I'm paying $1109 for a 2BR/BA w/a den.
