I moved in with my 1 year old daughter, a single mom, and was given the most run-down apartment they had! Mold was running down the walls and none of the appliances worked. I was given the choice of moving or terminating my lease with no penalties. I was moved to another apartment, which was just as bad. I gave 30 days notice and left and they sued me for rent, however, had someone else living in the apartment. I left my electric on b/c I knew the shysters would go after me for the security deposit, and now I have a $500 BGE bill for the other people who live there now. They kept my security depoit, did not notify me of the reason, and did not notify me of the walk as required by law. They completely rescinded on their offer of breaking the lease. I reported them to BBB and the Attorney General, and neither have had a response. I can go after them with a lawyer, but I'm already broke.
