We moved into a newly renovated first floor apartment. Overall, the place is decent. Cheaply constructed, but no surprise there. The apartment is clean, no rodents, no bugs yet. New double pane windows are very nice. Washer and dryer work fine. Heating and AC work fine, with electricity bills running pretty average, I'd say, during winter. Kitchen is small with very little storage space, but again no surprise since it's a small apartment. Parking is never a problem. No obnoxious groups of kids making noise all the time. Apartment walls are thick enough to damper sounds from neighbors. It's not a bad place to live. The neighborhood is nice, close to shopping, close to schools, and generally quiet. I would recommend living here if you moved into a newly renovated place. Also, be careful of first floor apartments. During the cold winters, the drains in the mechanical room right next to the porch will freeze, and water will pool up in that room. This water then will creep under the wall and start to saturate the carpet inside the living room. This is apparently a reoccurring problem here with first floor apartments. It happened to us, and I had to move our sofa, pull the carpet and padding up, and let it dry out for about a month. Very inconvenient.
