Well, I do not live in America, but in Austria (Europe). However as a from me beloved woman wants to emigrate from Vienna, Austria to Conowingo, Maryland, I am looking around how the situation is here. In Conowingo I didn't find any rental homes, but here I have found these websites.

As far as I see these apartements are the cheapest of Bel Air. The price of USD 554 is about EUR 378,44. This would be an acceptable price in Vienna, Austria. The woman I speak of (let me call her my girl-friend, although this is not quite the correct term) has an apartement in Vienna and the rent is EUR 450, and with all other costs she pays around 600 per month.

In general I have heard that living in USA is much more expensive than in Austria.

I have read here many notes saying that there are prostitutes and dealers and loud people. Well, on the other hand these apartements are cheap. So I think when we live cheap then we normally will not have millionaires and bankers as neighbours, do we'

However the word "apartment" irritates me. How is this word used in the USA'

In Vienna we know a term that is called "Substandardwohnung". This means a very small "apartment" that normally contains of a single room that has either a place to cook or a very small "stand-cooking-room" and a double-bed. Such apartements do not have an own toilet, and often there even is no water in the apartement. Instead, there is a "bassena" (a water outlet) anywhere on the floor that is for all people living there. And there is a toilet either on the same floor or on another floor that is used by all people living in the apartments on this floor or even in the whole house. There is no toilet paper given by the housekeeper, instead you are forced to bring your own. Such a "Substandardwohnung" is available for 50 - 100 Euro (= about USD 73,20 - 146,39) including all taxes. In such "apartments" you will normally find people that have no job and get only some "Notstandshilfe" (poor-men-giving from the Republic of Austria). (Although I know, that a here well known comedy star that is a millionaire lives also in such a "Substandardwohnung", but he is an exception.)

So my question:
Are the "Wakefield Manor Apartments" that what I have described above under the term "Substandardwohnung"' or are they better'

And how is the infrastructure here' Bus station, train station' Frequency of busses or trains' Schools, supermarkets, shops' How large is Bel Air' Activities' Nightlife'

Maybe we will make some holidays in Conowingo or around. Please speak a bit about the district here where you live. Do you know Conowingo' The map shows that it is a very small village.

What do you mean to my thoughts'

(Now I see that I am forced to quote if I will or will not recommand these apartments. I click on something, although I really cannot give a recommandation as I do not know these apartments, because I am forced to quote, otherwise I cannot post this here.

Gerhard, Eventhough I have left negative feedback about Wakefield Manor, I believe that they are considered luxury compared to what you describe is available in Austria. I think you would be happy at Wakefield compared to what you are used to.

Wakefield Manner is a nice place. Conowingo is not far away. It is a small town. In Bel Air, Md where wakefield is ..you are close to schools, shopping, etc. Hardly any crime at all. The worst crimes are speeding and a robbery once in a while. Overall, the area is great. Good luck.
