...But the lady that runs it sucks! Laura Burkowski is so set in her old ways that she can't stand kids. I have two boys and all she does is blame them for ruining the grass when it's maintenance that ruins it. I have been "talked to" about such minor stuff like "having the hood up on my vehicle while parked out in the PUBLIC street!"
She lies to her neighbors, she lies to your face and she lies to her bosses down on Charles St just so she looks good. She has been known to change the rules as SHE seems fit. Let's just say that as of now, she will be hearing from my lawyers and I will sue for slander, (she talks about everybody to everybody), defamation of character, and causing my wife to have an Anxiety attack! She has a LOW opinion about kids! I feel that if she wants to be in an old-age community, she should either run one or live in one!!!
As far as MAINTENANCE goes, Al is a piece of work himself. He has walked in on people naked, in the shower or having sex. And he brags heavily about it. He has been caught - ON VIDEO - robbing people and entering peoples places without consent or reason. He is also quickly to try and flirt with any female that has two legs and large breasts. He is a huge pervert! THEY NEED TO GO!!!!!!
Other than that, this is a good place to live!! Oh, and as far as rent, EVERYBODY pays something different! I'm now in the 900's. I started at 700, (2 years ago!!!)!

I have lived at Wakefield for 3 yrs and Laura - manager- is wonderful. She is strict concerning the development which I am glad because she keeps it from falling apart and turning into a trashy place. Al is great too with maintenance. No one that I know here has any problems with Wakefield. Thanks

You must be old and have the same value system as laura if you think she is wonderful. you know why you have to mail in you rent payments now before you could just walk it and drop it off at the office. LAURA STOLE THEM, SHE HAS A GAMBLING PROBLEMS!! USED OUR RENT CHECKS. CHECK IT OUT IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME. She HATES children and single moms and doesn't try to hide it. I am so SURPRISE the old bag is still there. you need to do something, she's a walking talking law suit. oh and her boss knows about her little problem and did NOTHING!! SO he must be a criminal too. and if the maintence man is breaking the law CALL THE POLICE!!!

Gerhard Eichberger Well I have posted here some months ago, because I have read here about the situation in this house. I don't know anything about the house. I am living in Austria in a village where 2000 people live. I have posted here the living situation of some people I know of. The response was that the Wakefield Manor would be much better than what I'm used to. Well... it's not what I'm used to. I am living at Langenlebarn that belongs since 1971 to the town of Tulln. I live together with my fahter in a house that was bought by my grandfather somehen about 1935. The house is approximately 200 years old - we don't know it exactly, there are no informations about the time of building the house at the local offices. This house belongs to my father, so we don't have to pay any rent, but some taxes, and we have to repair it by ourselves. (My father can do much repairs by himself, so it doesn't cost that many.) So I did not write about my situation - I have just written about the situation I know from some friends and relationship. In Austria, living in a poor-looking home doesn't necessary mean that the people living there are really poor. There are many people that have much money on the bank but live in a very cheap home to save money. Also the term "my home is my castle" is not concerning everybody here. (I don't know how people in the United States see this or handle this.) On the other hand I read here that some people at the Wakefield Manor have problems with the housekeeper. At first my question: What function does the housekeeper have? What is the job of this housekeeper? Is the housekeeper paid from the owner of the house, or is she paid from the people living there besides the rent? Is the housekeeper of the Wakefield Manor also living in the same house? Is the housekeeper also collecting the rent for the owner of the house? (I ask this because there are different ways how housekeepers are held in Austria, I don't know how this is in the United States of America.) I read here that the housekeeper doesn't like children and that there are other problems with here. On the other hand I read that she is a lovely person. Maybe some people like her, and some do not. And I believe that a "value system" should not be interesting in doing the job of a housekeeper. But when there are problems with the housekeeper: Why are these problems? What do you mean are her meanings, thoughts and opinions to her behaviour? Is she married? Is she lucky? (I can't say much about this, but when I read the informations I think that she has perhaps personally problems that are the reason for the mentioned problems.) What do you mean? Gerhard
