Not So Bad

PROS: Overall, living here has been just fine. The people are nice, the area is quiet, their is an elementary school within walking distance and lots of fast food and stores around. Maintenance has always responded in a timely manner (within one to two days). I haven't had much experience with management but when I have, they've been fine to deal with. They always deliver papers to your door which i've found convient. Safe neighborhood although a neighbor of mine just got her car broken into, although, she never locks her car door. That was the first crime i've heard about since i've lived here. The apartments are nice on the inside. Very spaceous with high ceilings, fire place and new appliances. There are washer and dryers in the unit as well as an alarm key pad.

CONS: When we first moved in, it smelled like cigerette smoke and we couldn't get it out for two months or so. Although maintenance is fast, if you have something blocking what needs to be fixed, don't expect them to move it so they can fix it. We had a box in front of our patio door which was broke upon move in, and they wrote something like, we can't fix the door because there is no clear path to the door. Mind you, we got in and out of the door just fine. And they won't follow up and try again unless you put in another request. Although the apartment looks nice, its like its falling apart. We've had three things fall off just by touching it. When we moved in, you could see the shotty work that had been done previously on the walls. Of course, theres not enough parking. You have to get home by 4ish to get a good spot. Theres only 6 spaces in front of the building plus one handicap space in the building i'm in and the rest are on the side of the building and sometimes you have have to park at another building just to get a park. Also, the buzzer is not a buzzer. There is a key pad in the apt. that doesn't work and in order for someone to come in, they have to buzz your home telephone, which doesn't make a difference since the door is broken. I guess one of the tenants broke it a couple months back and management has never fixed it (definate safety issue). And when you walk upstairs, don't let the hallway door be stuck or you won't be able to get into your apartment. Also, the people in this area don't clean up after their pets. Theres always poop lying around in the grass. Management provides bags for these people right outside but no one seems to be using them. If you have kids, forget about them being able to play outside. There are signs up that say no bicycling, skateboarding, running, etc... There is more street then sidewalk and no back yard space or view. Also when you pull in, there is no one at the gate. I've never seen a community with a gate that no one is ever there. You just drive on in. Now we're having an ant problem but I guess thats to be expected since its getting warm. One last thing, you have to pay fees for the fitness center and pool even if you don't use them. We moved in the beginning of Sept. and they told us the pool was just closing for the season. My lease is up in June and the pool is just opening back up. We asked if we could get a refund for the fee since we won't be here long enough to use the pool and was told no. Now thats some bull.

This is my experience with the Liriope side. I don't know how the arborview side is. Also, I said it was an overall nice experience because I could deal with most things. As long as people stay out of my business and management fixes what it needs to, everything is fine.
