Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
I lived at the Lighthouse for a year up until last summer. It was a great experience. I always had my maintenance requests answered asap. I never had roaches. There were rarely noise issues. I'm a single woman who lived alone on the ground level --with my two dogs-- and I always felt safe.
There was a "minor" issue with a pair of cars that would park across the lot (facing my sliding glass doors, but at 300 feet away). I suspected they were dealing drugs or something because they'd park there in the middle of the night for two and three hours at a time.
I reported them to management. Management notified a cop who lived in my building. After a few weeks I never saw the cars parked there again, although the neighbor-cop told me he never witnessed the suspicious cars.
A female neighbor living alone in an adjacent building had her ground-floor apartment burglarized when she wasn't home. She was freaked out about it. It made me more careful when walking the dogs at night or parking at night, but still didnt' change my positive experience about the complex. Besides, I suspect it was a couple of teenagers who were up to no good, but not necessarily dangerous.
Lastly, when I first moved in, some of the management office employees were low-class and barely professional. But after living there a few months, I never saw them again. I think a whole group of them were fired at the same time. The office workers I delt with for the remaining 8 months I lived there were awesome!
My lease wasn't renewed because I paid my rent late (5-7 days) more than 4 times (if you pay rent late 4 times or more then they won't renew you're lease) in that year (probably 6 or so). So, I had to move, even though I didn't want to.
Let that be a warning to you. Always pay rent on time.
