Yes. It is worth it to break my lease. I have not had a working fridge in six months. I do not have a screen on my ONE window. Utilities including AIMCO and Pepco for one month in my 452 square foot effieciency exceeded three hundred dollars one month. Yes. And I am gone all day from 7 am to 8pm at work. I do not leave anything on while I am gone. 50.00 for hot water a month for one person taking one shower a day'

I have put in more maintenance requests about the fridge. Guy came and said it is fine. The next time I called, I made sure to leave the spoiled food in the freezer. He finally says it is broken. Took them two weeks to put in another fridge. A used one with someone else's dirt. Yep. I still have water in the freezer that is not even cold, much less frozen. Silverfish, spiders and crickets greet me in the tub. No roaches thank God.. but several unidentifiable other critters. No screen in the ONE window means I have to keep it closed. The heating/air conditioning unit sounds like a 747. My upstairs neighbor' I hear him piss. As well as every step he takes on the creaky floors. I feel like I am in an intimate relationship without the benefit of co-rent. Not his fault, just the design of the building.

The staff are apathetic, rude, condescending and just down right GHETTO. The all have that slave mentality of thought. They truly believe that people should live like this and if you complain, it is somehow your fault. When I told the Carmen that my apartment was not habitable, she informed me that it was. No working fridge' Not able to use the stove without the smoke detector going off' No screen in the window (unable to open window)' She informed me that everyone's place was like that.

Well.. guess what' NO ONE SHOULD LIVE WITH THIS STUFF. How about that' I have had to go on sleeping pills just to get sleep at night, as well as using ear plugs. The constant noise, the bugs, the screaming of my next door neighbors (I had to call the police once and the EMT's twice as well as go over there and break up their fights..). My car was stolen in the first week I lived here. I should have moved out then.. but I did not want to pay to break my lease.

Now I don't care what I have to pay. I just want to be out of this hell hole.

I am about to do the same. It is so unsafe in this neighborhood and it is so DIRTY. I do not recommend this place to any one!! Management is the worst, all they care about is money. I pay my rent every month on time and I'm still waiting for them to fix under the kitchen sink because it's leaking and after a year now the wood is caved in and rotten. I call them and they always give me an excuse not to fix it. Now one of the bathroom sinks is leaking and they still havent even come to check it. Wood is starting to smell. No matter how many times you call to get something fixed it wont get fixed.
