My husband and I lived at Lighthouse at Twin Lakes for two years. Within those two years, my car was broken into twice with damages totaling nearly $1000. Two months before our lease was up, my husband was mugged at gun point in the lobby of our own apartment building. A man approached him, pulled a gun on him and stole his phone, a credit card and cash. Fortunately, he was not hurt, but needless to say, we were upset. Lighthouse at Twin Lakes is completely negligent as far as safety standards go. The manager wouldn't even meet with my husband and I after the mugging, and had his assistant deal with us instead. The parent company's crisis management team contacted us fearing we would file a lawsuit - and in the mean time, the manager himself wouldn't sit down and discuss the situation. Listen up, folks. The doors didn't have locks when we left, there are no safety cameras, countless drug deals were going on right across the street, and following this whole situation, we were warned of a sexual predator living in a nearby apartment building, and an arsenal of guns stolen from a neighboring apartment - in our building! Do not rent from these folks. I recommend staying away from any apartments run by AIMCO, the parent company. These folks are only after your money and don't care about your safety. Moving out of that complex was a life-saving decision.

i currently live in lighthouse at twinlakes. i relocated from another state and it was the only thing i found in a short amount of time that allows my dog. i have been wanting to get out of there sooo badly. where did you move to? im looking for different, safer areas, with management that cares about their tenants

I live at Lake House Twinlakes, been there going on 3 years. Although I'm not having any issues with maintenance or staff itself, I am more concerned with the many many car thefts and someone being held at gun point at 9:00p at night coming into my building, that is early and could have been me. Also, just last month in March, my son had a girlfriend over around 9:00p and within 3 hours her car was stolen. The security service they have hired is just not doing any good, the crooks outsmart them everytime. There are so many break-ins and car thefts is just right down outrageously redicules. I've noticed like the other response said that most car thefts and vandalism are occuring in the back where Calverton Elementary School is. To ride through this area you would never know as quiet and peaceful and safe as it look its deceiving and a dangerous place to live.

IVE BEEN ROBBED AROUND THERE. PEOPLE BROKE INTO MY APARTMENT AT GUN POINT! SECURITY SAW ME RUNNING OUT MY BUILDING CHASING THE CROOKS AND DIDN'T EVEN STOP TO SEE IF I WAS OK. SECURITY OFTEN SLEEPS ON THE JOB AND DOESN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE LOITERING IN AND OUT OF THE BUILDINGS. EVERYTIME I WALK INTO MY BUILDING IT SMELLS LIKE MARIJUANA AND URINE. I CANT WAIT TO LEAVE THIS PLACE!

I moved to the lighthouse at twinlakes apartments in march 2008. From the day my husband, son,and I moved in, the mnagement LIED REPEATEDLY. First we were told the utilities (gas, water and sewer) was $75, within a week of us moving in, it turned to $100. All of a sudden 2 days ago, we came to find out it went up again! Now we are paying $180. I wouldn't have been abgry if the foools did what they were suppose to do i.e send a F*&%%ing NOTICE!!! Secondly, i have trouble with my so called neighbors. They throw trash all the way from the top floor to my patio. When you report these incidents, the management does NOTHING. They DISGUST me. I can't wait to move out. If anyone is seriously thinking about moving in here, guess what? you wasting your time and money. SAVE yourself the trouble. SAVE YOUR LIFE and RUN
