Cons:
Quality of living: You will get a little better than the average quality of apartments here and not more than that. You have to be fortunate enough to get a new carpet in your apartment as the community has little weird reasoning to replace it once in 5 years. You have to be at your home at least by 7:30 pm to get the parking spot in front of your apartment. As most of the other buildings in the zip code, due to the age of the building, noise levels are relatively (occasionally) higher than you would prefer.
Pros:
Locality: I personally prefer the units close to the leasing office compared to the ones that are located in the back. The community being located within 0.5 mile off of I-95 makes it relatively quicker traffic (even in peak hours) as compared to a community which needs miles of travel on local roads.
Maintenance: It improved significantly compared to 6 months ago where there used to be many maintenance issues. The community being so huge, there are many maintenance people (though some of them appear to be lacking the required expertise) in the community to address the requests relatively faster. Of course, there was couple of occasions in the last 2 years where they took more than 2 days for fixing an issue.
Safety: If you need to rent an apartment relatively close to the Beltway and cannot go beyond Laurel and Silver Spring, it may not be a bad idea to stay here. Even though the restricted access to the most of the units is not on line yet (they installed them about a year ago), it certainly improves the sense of safety when they finally go on line.
Pricing: There is no doubt that you would end up getting a relatively spacious apartment compared to anywhere else in this area for the same price.
