I disagree that smoking is encouraged, those who smoke and loiter outside the buildings choose to do so, all a resident needs to do is call the Leasing Office and lodge a complaint. The same goes for problems with neighbors, I had an issue with a neighbor above me who had between 6-7 people living with her so the children can attend school in the neighborhood, I experienced extreme noise and stomping from September 2008 until April 2009, despite my talking nicely with the neighbor, and hitting the floor. I lodged complaints with the Leasing Office, and followed it with a letter stating that I was giving notice to leave because of the problem. The management checked and realized that indeed the apt was rented by 1 person and 6-7 persons were living there. They were given notice to vacate. Additionally, this is our home and community, so it is your responsibility to make a complaint and the problem will be addressed to residents in a letter. Most recently, our new Community Manager held a town hall meeting, those residents who were really concerned about our community attended and expressed their concerns and also their praises, others never bothered. Were you one of those who never bothered to complain or attend the town hall meeting' Stop washing dirty laundry to the public, take action. I have never had problems with service calls. Remember you are not the only person in the community. How did you report your gas leak'

Smoking is encouraged by placing receptacles to extinguish cigarettes directly outside the apartment doors, next to the windows of some residents. I have reported many of my concerns and continue to have issues with service. Most recently a leak in my faucet was not taken care of for over three days. Even though the water was scalding. I have taken action and I choose to share this information with the public so they make an informed decision and live somewehere else. The town hall meeting was announced the day before and I had to work. With better notice, I would have been in attendance.

I have only one complaint. It's all of us tenants. We teach our kids to sabotage the security doors. The people on the ground level don't monitor the vacant back entry into the buildings. Tenants don't seem to care about homeland security and are too lazy to teach their kids all about it when it is provided to them. Tenants don't respect the security and privacy of their own hallway neighborhood by keeping all exit doors closed/locked so heat/cold air is kept out of the buildings and so bugs and vermin are kept out of the building. Luckily so far the exterminators under contract are doing their job well. Tenants don't care at all about the safety of the community. In fact, encourage unsafe conditions. Homeland security is a community voluntary effort and it only takes one family to destroy the entire community of tenants. Each two addresses have two controlled accesses and one backyard uncontrolled access. Management can't do anything about it. Impossible. They've done all they could. AIMCO has spent a fortune on homeland security.

I completely agree. The reason why they put smoking receptacles is because everyone leaves there cigarrette buds in the ground. I think they put them up so we have a clean environment. People are going to smoke regardless. If residents will stop putting pennies in the entry door and messing them up we will have secure entrance doors now. But because people are so irresponsible that is what happens. Yeah maybe the new manager is a bit slow and not as good as the old manager but I still see attempts being made. They just change the stairwell floors to make it more safe and attractive. They also painted all the hallways and changed the lighting. And they have cleaning people on the weekends now which is great because most of our neighbors are pigs! I disagree with the maintenance taking 3 days to handle service issues! I have never had to wait that long. They always come on the day of my complaint. Either your giving your service request to the wrong person or you are not calling with sufficient time. As residents we have to take accountability of our community!

Well, I can truly appreciate the responses to the environment at your apartment complex. It is important for all those who are trying to save money and still move into a decent, not luxurious apartment complex, become aware of the good and bad aspects of an apartment. These responses will truly help me in my decision.
