Love Apt, Surrounding Area Could Be Better

Married to a UMD Grad student, these apartments are exceptional for the price. Having relocated from Ohio, the surrounding area of Powder Mill Village is a shock to the system. I feel safe in the daytime, but stories on the news cause me to feel unsafe at night (but I think that would be true anywhere near the University which is has its own crime problems).
I love my apartment; the rooms and closets are spacious and the paint fresh. The buildings have been very well maintained. The key to enjoying Powder Mill Village is to secure an apartment on the edge of the Village, preferably not on the middle school side. The kids play in the middle of the large complex near the playground, pool, and basketball courts, so, accordingly, if one choose to live near that area, volume will increase. My neighbors are quiet and polite, and maintenance is prompt. There is a five year plan in effect to replace windows throughout the community (which is badly needed as the windows may as well be open when the a cold wind blows by).
The worst part of Powder Mill Village is that it is in Prince George?s County and, as with most of the area and Maryland in general, driving anywhere is a health risk due to the city/state?s lack of organization in relation to the roadways.
