I lived in Powder Mill for a year and half. In my time there, the biggest issue that I had was the bugs. The maintenance people come when you call them, it really did not take a lot to get them to come and fix something but please be warned that these apartments (while spacious) are very OLD and need renovating.

About the bugs - when we first started living there, I would see the occasional roach in the apt. so I did the normal things; made sure nothing was left out, set my own baits, traps, etc. But towards the middle of our stay there, they started coming out in droves. Seriously, when we would turn on the light they would be EVERYWHERE and it got to the point that it wasn't just at night when we would see them but in the daytime too, which can be embarrassing when you have people coming over to visit.

Management - we never had a problem with them. In general, we never had any issues with tenants, everyone was really nice.

Condition of the apartment- The only thing I hated was the old bathroom. The tiles are yellow and they are hard to clean. Also, the ceiling above the shower kept cracking and falling into the bathtub, causing me to think that the water from above us was leaking down. Then the maintenance people come and just slap some more drywall on top of the cracking drywall...a big mess.

Our car was broken into on one occasion but they did not take anything big.

All in all, I would not recommend moving here unless you are really desperate. It's not the hood but the conditions are far from favorable.
