Good Place To Live, Great For Dogs

We found that with our dog, options in the Bethesda area were limited. Avalon, happens to be lucky in the fact that it has a 2 acre "dog-park" area of fenced in grass and trees caused by the fence along the road and the parking grage. That is proabably the biggest selling point. I agree that the buildings were cheaply built (we had a water leak in our roof) but in general the maintenance staff is quick to respond so it's tough to complain too much. Parking is never an issue, and in general it feels like a safe place to live. Office staff is certainly not "top-notch" and sometimes comes across as unhelpful. Another positive aspect is that since we were a middle floor apartment we got enough heat and AC from the apts around us that we barely had to run our heat/AC. All in all, it's expensive, but with a dog it is worth it..
