Bethesda Place

My husband and I moved into Bethesda Place after relocating from London. We looked at quite a few apartments in the Chevy Chase and Bethesda areas and Bethesda Place stood out. Firstly, the leasing/office staff are fantastic. Ms. Evelyn Alston, the Leasing Manager, has been here for a number of years and clearly loves her job. She could answer all of my questions and did not hesitate to show me around twice in one day, even showing the apartment that would actually be available. It's also nice to notice that the desk staff seem to know the residents, saying hello to people by name when they come into the building. People seem to be genuinely happy living here.

The building itself is immaculately looked after and even has a handy skywalk that goes over to the Metro so you don't need to wait through the lights down on the street. It takes about 3 minutes to walk over.Our one bedroom is bright and spacious and has a balcony off the kitchen. So far we have had a couple maintenance needs and they were attended to in the same day.

Given its location - at the intersection of Old Georgetown Road and Woodmont Avenue - you do hear a bit of street noise. The good news is that the walls and ceilings are well-insulated and we haven't heard a peep from the neighbors - some of whom have children.

There is a Safeway right on the plaza below which is almost full-size and very convenient! The parking lot is huge and one space is $85 a month. A bit expensive but certainly less than in the District. The garage is large enough that having parking for guests and friends is not a problem - they give you a discount at the front desk so they don't have to pay full-fare. Another great feature - the one that cinched it for us - is that each apartment has a washer and dryer. So nice!!

Right - I think that's the main stuff. I'd highly recommend the building!
