The 8% rent increase is just plain gouging because of the area. Not a single improvement has been made to this building in years. Hall carpets rarely vacuumed., stains remain months, on weekends elevators may have vomit or debris from college students and other unruly tenants. Don't expect to control your Heat & AC even though your apartment has a thermostat. Aldon regulates it, so no matter what you set the thermostat to you are only going to get the temp (cold in winter) (hot in summer) that Aldon wants you to have. So much air blows through the windows and balcany doors you have a constant breeze, so much so your curtains will blow straight out! Yeah they include hea/ac in the rent but don't be fooled you will see little of either. They could save a bundle on heating and ac if they would replace the ancient windows with double glaze glass but Aldon just collects rent and that's it. If their utilities go up because of poor insulation around windows and balcony doors they pass the cost on to you the tenant. We are out of here when our lease is up. For a few dollars more you can live better, cleaner, and even have a washer/dryer in your unit. Stay Away.
