I'm just curious because I lived that the Metropolitan and it wasn't bad at all. I was in apt 819. It was a large 1 bedroom with a good view. We were happily suprised to see brand new carpet in the unit when we moved in. The 8th floor was a quiet floor and didn't smell like smoke. I can't comment on the other floors.
