I moved here in mid-January, and I'm loving the area right now.

The building is just above a public parking lot that has controlled access to the apartment complex itself. The city workers also have patrols in public parking lots very regularly. It's a little expensive to actually park in the main garage though. The main garage is large and spacey with good controlled access and safety. I do fear that outsiders may get into the garage from the Loading Dock which seems to open up everyday unattended for movers or garbage collectors and whatnot.

I feel very safe here. I see at most 2 security guards time to time in the front and park-side of the building. I haven't seen any homeless people roaming in or around the building. I'll be very very upset if I find one. I have encountered a few problems with the doors not automatically locking, but after reporting this each time (twice), it would be fixed within the same week.

There are, however, signs of vandalism inside the building. I tend to see footprints on the metallic elevator door. Some idiot probably kicked the door or rested his foot on it. There is marker tagging in the men's locker room sauna. I don't know how this got here, but it doesn't seem like anyone ever uses the sauna either. The markings on the wood may have scared residents off from using it. I see marker taggings in some stairwells too, like in the Plaza floor's exit to the skywalk.

I have also encountered the hot water going off on different nights. Once was scheduled for after 10pm for boiler room repair. And other nights (three different nights within 6 months, late nights), the water heater would be off.

Construction is occuring in the building itself. Balconies are being repaired during the daytime, so noise level can be high after 8am. I don't have a problem with noise, and I don't hear anyone else from other rooms. The rooms are divided by concrete walls, thankfully. You'll often hear people through the foyer door, people talking while walking through the hallway, but this isn't a problem. The traffic noise can be heard outside, and firetrucks/ambulances/police sirens can be heard several times in the day or night. During the weekends, drunk people tend to get belligerent and can be heard late at night because of the public parking downstairs and the bars/clubs around the area. I've seen several drunk people getting pulled over down Woodmont Avenue, and heard several drunk people screaming their lungs off late at night.

The reception area is well-kept, sometimes you have to go up to them to see if you have a package. They don't do the best job of letting you know something has arrived. Thankfully, I know what's coming most of the time. But for something I purchased and did not receive after a long time, I asked the front desk about it, and they had it lying in the room for 2 months before I picked it up. Customer Service is something they could definitely work on. The bozzuto maintenance workers are great though. Probably because they're Latino, they're very respectful.

The only other problem I have is people leaving their Safeway grocery store carts inside the building, like in front of the elevators or by the lobby doors. This irritates the hell out of me, because I don't like seeing them being left there. It looks tacky.

The price seems to be a little on the high side, but the area beats everything. Metro, Safeway, shopping, dining, Catholic church... all less than 4 blocks away.

1. "I'll be very very upset if I find one(homeless person)." The Flavia machine is a magnet for homeless people. Look in the lobby and you may see a homeless person mixed in with the tennants that look like they are homeless. 2.'The only other problem I have is people leaving their Safeway grocery store carts inside the building, like in front of the elevators or by the lobby doors." Safeway carts are supposed to be placed next to the mirrors in front of the elevators. What irrates me is when people block the hallways with then.
