Endless Annoyance

On top of enormous electricity bills ($300 a month'), parking, and now water and sewer (which are billed to each resident equally no matter how much water you actually use), the management keeps finding new ways to annoy residents. Although I've lived here for over three years, and have been paying for parking since I moved in, my car was recently towed from the lot apparently for not having a permit that I was never told I needed (even though the lot is half empty at all times!) And practically every night I am awoken to more cars of other residents being towed. The building is NOT metro accessible, so having a car is a necessity! Moreover, the management constantly seems to find new annoying reasons to interrupt you and enter your apartment. Considering how much we pay, and considering that they advertise the building as "luxury living", I find it troubling that they keep slapping on new bills and new annoyances. Avoid this building at all costs!! SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV

I'm also a resident, and I agree pretty much. I pay $85 in parking, and the lot is NEVER even half full. They scare your visitors into getting a visitor permit. Granted, that's free, but there's no reason our guests couldn't just park whenever for however long.
I live on the street side of the building, and sometimes wake up to the sound of AU sports team buses parked, waiting to pick up the kids. Still, doesn't sound as bad as the tow trucks, so I'm happy I have this side!
Glad to hear someone else is paying $300/month to Pepco . . . glad I'm not the only one! However, I truly think that's not based on unit usage, but rather split for the whole building. I was away from Thanksgiving through New Year's--one billing cycle--and had to pay $200. I didn't leave a single light on, much less the heat!

I don't know HOW these raters pay that much in electricity, but i'm VERY conscious of my usage. Electric is per individual usage, and even this summer, my bill has been amazingly low. I also don't know how the original poster missed the letters under the door and in all the common areas about parking... they advertised it a month before towing was actually enforced. funnily enough, my windows face the lot, and i've never seen or heard a tow truck. The only time management entered my apartment was to "install" a draft blocker under the apartment door, which was advertised a week before it happened, to keep cooking smells in the source apartment, and not wafting into the halls. Nice ammenity, really.
