We are only here because we are poor. This place is very dangerous. There have been several fires caused by tenants. The building has hired a registered violent sex offender to help replace windows. Residents are not informed when major renovations to their own living space will be done. Old car batteries are left by the trash chutes, leaking acid and eating thru the rug. Vomit in the halls and elevators. Urine in the stairwells. Multiple evacuations due to false alarms. 2 out of 6 dryers working for 189 apartments. 3 out of 6 washers working for 189 apartments. In spite of residents banding together and forming a strong articulate voice, no changes, none, in many months. Management quit and current management has no control and cares nothing. This is a mixed income building. Watch your car. Watch your back. NEVER leave your children alone. Some very bad, disrespectful and indecent individuals live here and work here. This is your tax dollars at work, providing a slum and slum-like residents to dwell in your community. There is only 1 good thing, the maintennence men are like super men, doing their jobs faithfully and well, in the midst of chaos. Kudos to them.

The greatest thing - location. And two maintainance managers. The are nice and professioanal, bilingual (spanish and english). The hired contractors-workers screwed up with fire alarm wiring, so every week or every other week it goes on automatically and you enjoy fierce noise from 15 to 40 minutes. It may happen at night. It also did happened on weekends. So taxpayers money goes to finance bringing the whole firebrigade (driving their huge vehicle)etc every time when tnis alarm goes on and buzzes in vain........ But the fireman do not hurry, because they know this place (pooks hill apartments), so the tenants enjoy the fierce buzzzzzzzzz of the fire alarrrrmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmm Another attraction here - Was the price. It was the price that lured us here. But it Was, and now changed. So we shall most most likely look for something else. I never visit the trash room on my floor - so filthy it is. I have to go out to dispose trash.
