The managers of this apartment can afford to buy three of these buildings with the rents they charge and the effort they put in for maintenance for this old, poorly kept building. Service staff respond quickly but in some cases have damaged apartments, of which the tenant will get charged for. Hardwood floors are scratched and don't reach across to the end of walls, leaving large cracks where grime from tenants in past decades have built up. Heating and AC consist of a single vent in an efficiency and work very poorly. Bringing in a portable heater will help but you must be careful not to use other electrical appliances because the circuit breaker will trip. Cockroaches find their way up to all levels of the apartment building.

The apartment has noisy restaurants in front and a small club in back that enjoys the patronage of motorcyclists that come and go at all hours. This tenant has had to use earplugs to sleep often.

Appliances are all old. Efficiencies are given only dorm fridges that freeze your milk but the freezer shelf does not the freeze ice cream. Must ask for full size.

Unless you really like Bethesda and can't find anything else, this apartment is not a good bet.
