I live in the new phase of Autumn Woods. Apartment Structure: The walls and floors are paper-thin. My neighbor above me gets up at 5 am during the weekday for work and I can hear their movement (floor cracking and squeaking) like they were physically in my room or I am awaken by the neighbor below me awaking their child, if I can sleep pass the 5 am movement. So I now, also get up at 5 a.m. or 6 a.m., which is a problem since I don?t have to be to work until 9 a.m. and only 30 minutes away. You can hear all lovemaking, farting, snoring, conversations, etc. from your neighbors. There are several cracks in the walls and peeling paint from the door frames of my apartment that has not been fixed, but management is aware of this problem and has yet to repair it. Also, the apartments vents are few in number and cause a considerable amount of coldness and draft. This in turns makes for a high electric bill that is not included in your rental fee. The apartments floor plan and appliances are very good in appearance, along with being efficient, so far.
Apartment Maintenance: My move in date was December 2002. To date my hallway has not been vacuumed or cleaned. I have made several calls and trips to the rental office, to only be told that they will get someone out there to do it. I has not happened as of yet. With the recent snow days, the sidewalks have not been shoveled, sanded or salted. This is a real problem, because the new apartments are built on a hill. This is very dangerous. When reported to the rental office, I was told, ?Well if you fall I will just do an incident report.? The so call manager made this statement. There is always trash surrounding the dumpsters, but not at the apartments near the rental house. The laundry centers are dirty, but not at the one that sits across from the rental house. Management to bear with them has told I, they are short staff. You would think, since the majority or all apartments in the new phase are rented they would be able to hire more staff.
Neighborhood: I have not experienced any crime since moving there. But, I have noticed the increase presence of teenagers hanging out. I am fearful of what the summer weather will bring. I am now in the process of looking for better living for my $890.00 per month.
