well i have been living in capital view for about 12 or 13 yrs (in 22) and i must say it has its ups an downs.....first the ups: its a quiet community small not a large community,they did upgrade the windows as well this yr,... you don't really see that many kids in the parking lots playing around maybe once or twice but they are really strict about kids playing in the parking lot an loitering on the front and the hallways, there are 2 high schools in the area Bladensburg high (across the street) and Elizabeth seaton (all girls high school), and 2 elm schools in the surounding area. the maitnance fix thing on time, you have assigned parking but that has its down fall to it as well. now the downs: well... first the parking is kinda okay, first if you have 2 cars you are only assigned 1 parking space and usually all the visitor parking spaces are gone by 7pm 8pm in the evening you cant really have firends and family over on the weekends because people have there 2nd cars parked in the visitor spaces( it gets kinda frustrating)...the apts are old an need major renovations to them(kitchen(appliances are old) and bathroom(needs vanity/upgrade)). they do have a really bad roach problem in the kitchen( and we keep our apt very clean) but you cant help the neighbors that want to be nasty, we bomb our apt every 3 months an they keep coming back. the walls are paper thin, we have asked if we can get an upgrade on our kitchen an bathroom an they told us they will be doing that to all the apts soon, and that was i believe a year ago. It took us to be a residence for 9 yrs to get new carpet, I have been trying to get my parents to move and they are finally looking...i mean i haven't encountered in any mice before at all but they do have a roach problem. i am trying to move myself to a condo or a townhouse so i pray on that, cant deal with apts. so i say to any potential renters that look at capital view or any apt community to PLEASE pick your residence wisely......
