If you are looking for affordablilty...this is the place to be. However, it you are looing for safety, REALLY LOOK ELSEWHERE! The parking is the absolute worst. It doesn't matter what time of the day you come home in the winter time. You definitely not find a parking space.

MAINTENANCE
The maintenance is absolutely TERRIBLE! The are so many things still wrong with my apartment! Yes, all utilities are included. But, they turn on the air and the heat when ever they feel like it. It is ridiculous when it is cold outside and you have cold air blowing out of your vents. There are still big holes under my cabinet that have not been repaired yet.

THEFT
My second month here, my car was broken into. They stole my radio and tried to take my club off (to steal my old car). The police don't patrol this area enough.

If you are still considering Gateway Gardens, just drive through the neighborhood during the daytime. You will see too many kids outside running around and jumping on cars. At night you will definitely not find any parking space.

Thats not true at all! I've lived here for 9 years and I love living here. The office staff and maintenance staff are very nice and are always concerned with evrything being ok in my apartment. They call me by name where ever they see me.They're great to my kids.The maintenance are very prompt. They also have 24 hours to respond to your maintenance rquest and they alays resond within that time. If they dont it's because they've had to order a part or a contractor has had to come out and fix it. I really dont know what your talking about.About the roaches? I dont have any, it has alot to do with how clean of a person you are. I think that in the 9 years i've been here i've MAYBE seen about 2 or 3, and that has onlly been when someone has moved out o my building. So if you want to move to the Bladensburg area Gateway Gardens is the place to be.

You were talking about not having heat and a/c on time, you don't have to pay for utilities. If you live at a community where you had to pay them, you will be eligible for heat and a/c anytime you want.
