These used to be really nice apartments. But over the years, they have really gone down hill! The current "management" staff is the worst one we have ever had. Not only is it like pulling teeth to get them to do anything for you, but it often takes repeated calls to get anything accomplished. And quite often they are rude to you when you call.

The apartments are over run with mice, and if you call and complain about it - all they do is bring you a couple of mouse strips.

They are also over run with roaches, and all the rental office does about that is spray your kitchen, if you ask them to. Which is only a temporary fix.

This winter our heat kept going off, even on the coldest of nights. Every time we turned around we had no heat. Repeated calls to the rental office would eventually straighten out the problem, but it kept happening all throughout the winter until about February or March. To my knowlege no one was ever refunded any money for the times we went with out heat.

The lawns are not kept up like they should be. Sometimes the grass grows pretty long before it is cut. The trees need pruning, as well. And the roofs are not repaired on a regular basis, so a lot of us have leaks in our apartments. Side walks often go without repair longer than they should, too.

As for the safety of the place, if you discount the leaky ceilings and the possibility of them collapsing on you because of it - the only other thing I feel I should mention is that we have had some car jackings here. But I guess that is happening all over now, so that is no reflection on the apartment complex itself.

They are relatively inexpensive and all utilities as included - but in this case cheaper is not better in my opinion. I could say more, but that should give you enough information to help you make an informed decision about whether or not you want to live here. As for me, I can't move out of here soon enough!

I second, third and fourth this motion!!!!!! This complex is a living hell...from the buildings itself to the management staff! It is a shame that the property manager is as rude and uncaring as she is....for she sits on the Council for the City of Bladensburg....there is nothing "Honorable" about this woman. And the "apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree", for her daughter (Tawanda) is just as bad!!!!!! NEVER MOVE HERE!!!!

I wish the best for the Anonymous writers. It's really saddens me that you can't identify yourself. However, we want you to know that we take complaints very seriously, therefore, If you feel that we have been rude to you, please accept our sincerest apologize. In response to your comments regarding some of the other issues, let me give you a quick over view of some of the improvements we've made in the last five years. We replaced aproximately 20 roofs, hired a pest control company to provide services on a regular basis, renovated approximately half of the 149 units with complete new kitchens which included new cabinets and countertops, new fixtures and ceramic floors. We installed new bathroom sinks, light fixtures and medicine cabinets. We installed new ceiling fans and new carpet. We had new washers and dryers installed in all six laundry room, installed light fixtures on all overhangs, and just 5 months ago, we hired a landscaping company to beautify the property. We regret that you did not have the opportunity to expierience the benfits of these improvements. Thank you for your comments.

1. The roaches are still bad 2. Rats are still alive and strong 3. Drug deals are being made around the complex daily. Open your eyes management. 4. "It really saddens me that you can't identify yourself". Are you serious?? Charlina if you'd fix the issues, there wouldn't be so many complaints. That is the main purpose of the website. Being anonymous is not the issue. Why do you need to know who it is? Case and point. Hilltop Manor Apartments is a terrible place to live.
