Ive been at Park Place since July '06. I must say there is alot that needs to be done with this community. Like most of you mentioned the apartment is actually decent size compared too most in the area. My complaint isnt once I enter my unit the drama starts once I lock my door. The everyday annoyance of the elevator not working and the lobby being dirty.(building 5800) The inside of the buildings definitely need some cosmetic surgery. Painting is a must. I will say it has drastically improved since I move in last summer. They have redone the elevator cabs (but hell, you cant enjoy it cause the elevator is always down). Which is very unacceptable in a high rise community. Like one of the other reviews posted, the litter and trash throughout the building can be a bit much to bare and little embarrassing but again how many times a day should the cleaning crew come through the building''' There are big trash bins by the mailboxes, a trash shute on every floor and trash cans outside near the entrance door, the litter is everywhere besides one of those designated places. Its ridiculous how grown folks can treat a place where you live and pay rent. This all stems from when you dont conduct thorough credit and reference checks and just let anyone move in who has a security deposit. From my understanding a new well known management company has taken over the community(The Donaldson Group) and upon paying my rent on the first, one of the woman in the rental office was assuring the tenants that millions of dollars were being used to rebuild the community. Ima just sit back and see. Compared to most places Im sure it could be worse but its a little upsetting that the place is runned down as it is but again when you ghetto as folks living in the units not even on the lease, breaking the front door cause they dont have a key to enter, when the secured entrance is too protect everyone that is a leaseholder and has a key, then what do you expect'''' I have a few more months left on my one year lease and Im sure I wont renew but it has definitely been an experience. So, If you are a new renter and reading any of these comments pretty much of what has been said here is the truth. If you are looking for fairly cheap rent and all utilities included and fealth all over the place than this is the place for you. Again, its not everyone and its a pretty diverse community (mainly them dirty Africans) but no one has bothered me, or have I ever felt unsafe at late hours of the night but like I said earlier once you get past the trash all over the lobby, elevator slow as hell, you be alright. Im not sure what its like in the other 2 buildings, cause in 5800 they say its the worse. But the other buildings have there drama as well, may not be as much, the rental office building is always seem to get priority treatment over the other 2 considering its only 3 building and most of the units are vacant Im tryna figure out what is the problem''' Poor management, and many others. Hopefully, a change is gonna come but I wont be around too see it.
