Horrible Living Experience

I am not your typical tenant who balks about poor customer service however in this case I felt that there was no other option at hand! I have lived within the community for the past two years. My vehicle has been vandalized twice while living on the property grounds. When I first moved into my apartment there was a black snake living in front my door. The maintenance crew were no help what so ever however I handled the situation myself of course. My apartment had somewhat of a scare about three months ago when a thief attempted to break into my home as well my neighbors home right below my apartment. The Management Staff is very catty at times but the manager Courtney is wonderful. If it were not for her I would have moved along time ago however it is truly a gift and a curse. The first year as a tenant my experience was wonderful now however I took a special promo that was running at the time I signed on to live there my second year and have had numerous problems ever since. I am currently in the transition of moving ASAP I can't tell you not to live here because that is not my place however if you are reading this review you have some serious reservations about living in a place like this. Definitely check local police reports if you don't believe anything I am telling you!

WOW! My experience is totally based on facts that have occured. However if your living experience has been wonderful then that's great however my experience differs substantially. The managment is ok, and I speak to the maintenance on a daily basis however that does not excuse my vehicle being broken into twice nor my neighbors apartment being targeted less than four weeks ago. There are a numerous amount of police officers that live on the property grounds yet instill there are frequent break ins and vandalism to vehicles. I haved lived on both sides of the complex. Websites such as this one exist for future tenants to hear the pros and cons about apartment complexes. If this has not happen to you then theres really no need to respond in reference to my very own personal experience. Obviously my living experience at this location has been substantially different than yours.
Thank You!

I have to strongly disagree with this poster. I'm sorry they've had such a negative experience, but I've lived here just over five years and I couldn't be happier. I have found the maintenance guys here to be the best of any place I've ever lived -- they go above and beyond to take care of anything I need. Problems are infrequent, but when they happen, they are resolved quickly. Courtney is a gem without a doubt. As for cars being vandalized and the break-ins, yes, it's happened. We had a brief period when apartments were being broken into, but they caught the people responsible and we haven't had any further problems. The one great thing about this place is that whenever anything like that happens, we get written notification from management with the details. Most places would sweep that under the carpet. I feel very safe in this community and would recommend moving here to anyone.

Here is some food for thought for future tenants???. I have once lived in this apartment community many years ago. I do have a friend that still lives there. Actually, she is being FORCED to vacate her apartment because the 'management' states that they need to 'renovate' the apartment. Please keep in mind that my friend???s apartment has had new rugs, flooring, washer, drier, fridge, and stove replaced over the coarse of her leasing contract. I feel that the management is very sneaky. There is no real reason to force a person out of his/her apartment if the major renovations have already been completed. Or, if renovations do need to be made then at least complete them during tenant transition. This is just one way to raise the rent on a piece of property that is 20 years old. It has also put a great deal of stress on my person. Most tenants were able to move into another apartment; however, the management would not even let my friend move into a vacated apartment next to hers. My friend is extremely clever and has asked that she be compensated for her inconvenient. The management agreed to wave her rent for the time that she will be displaced, however, what she will save in rent she will have to spend in moving and storage. The management did offer to loan her one of the 'PODS' that will be stationed outside her empty apartment. This did not easy my friends anxiety. I would just like to know how a company can get away with treating long time tenants like this. Granted that when I was living at this apartment, which was under a different management company, the managers and staff seemed to care about everyone. There were community get together at least once per month.
As for the vandalism within the community I would go to the management and complain to them. I do know that there are quite a few P.G county police officers that reside at this apartment community. In exchange, for them once in a while patrolling the apartment premises they receive a discount on there rent. I don???t know if it is still enforced by the current management (LCORE) but I do remember the 1st (out of 3)management companies telling me this when I was residing there.
