I've been a renter here for almost a year now. Overall, the apartment is nice. The area is quiet for the most part, but I will have to say that the sound proofing isn't very good. I live on the 2nd floor and my neighbors above me, I can hear their EVERY move. I swear the guy sounds like he's coming through the floor. He works wierd hours, so he's up throughout the night when I'm trying to sleep. The people under me, the only problem I have out of them, is their surround sound system. They forget that they are in an apartment and don't have the courtesy to turn down the volume when they are watching TV. When they are watching a moving, I can feel my entire living room floor vibrate (no joke).
Being military and coming from being a homeowner, this has been an adjustment, there is a big difference living in an apartment again. The main thing that I cannot get used to is the parking. Apartments that I have lived in in the past have always had designated parking for residents and visitors. Out here, it's all first come, first serve which is horrible when you have 3-4 vehicles per household taking up spots and it's really bad when you just came from grocery shopping and you're so far from your door.
Another problem I have is there are so many kids (teenagers) in my building. They haven't grasped the concept of the security door. They prop the door open with whatever they can find and leave it open for hours. I can see if you're just running outside to get something, but all day''' That defeats the whole purpose of the security door. Everytime I'm coming or going and I see it open, I close it....don't care if you're locked out.
I pay way too much in rent to be having issues like this. So with that said, I will be moving when my lease is up. Overall, the apartments are nice and clean and in a very quiet area. The staff is nice and friendly, but I think I can find something better. I'm just glad I'm military and my stay here is only temporary.
