I have lived at Capitol Courts apts for about a year and a half now. Thank God I am on month to month now because I have FINALLY given them my 30 days notice. I can no longer take it!! First let's start with the loitering children and teenagers. Sometimes they are not that bad but during the summer months they can get a bit destructive. I cannot tell you how many times I have come home to the glass in the front of the building being kicked out. Let's not forget the wannabe Nino Brown's that hang around all hours of the night. Half of the men that hang around outside don't even live there. Now the apartments themselves need to be condemned!! The bathroom tile is just plain disgusting. They lay it down but don't even bother to clear out the grout or even clean up the debris. The tubs are not properly stained which means when you take a shower it is a ----- to keep it clean because everything sticks to it. The have a serious mold problem in some of the closets. The balconies are just in bad shape. The screen door to the balcony might as well not be there. The windows have no screens whatsoever! Maintenance get paid to do nothing. I need to apply for that job. When I first moved into my apartment my heat did not work they had the nerve to tell me that it was an issue with Washington Gas and not the heater itself like I am stupid. I had to complain at least five times before maintenance finally decided to earn a paycheck. The pest are out of control. Roaches try to beat me into my apartment. There is a complete infestation. It is so bad that you can see roaches as soon as you enter the building. They pratically race me up the stairs. Everything is just disgusting. I itch just thinking about it. There are some apartments in the area that are much better for around the same price. Try Station Square in Suitland or even Hickory Hills. Anything is better then Capitol Courts. I can go on and one about these apartments and I am so upset I am going to look into the housing laws and report them because this is just disgusting. No one deserves to live this way no matter what your income. Lucky for me I found a great place in Camp Springs and in about 2 weeks Capitol Courts will be a distant NIGHTMARE!!! I have to stop! But please save yourself the trouble and do even think your apartment will look anything like the model. It is called a model for a reason.! Do not believe the hype!! Take my advice and drive through there at night when the rental office is closed and you will see what I am talking about. Oh and did I forget the people you have to step over to get into your apartment because of the illegal craps games that take place at any time of the night oh and let's not forget the wannabe Go-Go band mates that beat and knock on the doors which can be heard loud and clear through out the building. Who wants to hear all of that after working all day. Just please don't do it!

Well I will say that I have experienced some of the same problems as the person reviewed above. I have noticed that if you live on a particular side of Capitol Courts you have a TOTALLY different living experience. The side that I live on near Karen Blvd is just a plan disaster! I don't know what else to do about it. I have complained to the rental office about the pest and nothing has been done about it yet. I don't know what the person is talking about directly above. Either they work in the rental office or that are just one of the lucky FEW that didn't have a bad experience here.

I lived at capitol Courts in 04-05, it was the biggest mistake of my life. The so called mothers around there, let their children say and do what ever they want, those kids had the nerve to jump my daughter because she had pn some new Jordans and hair do, they jumped my brother because he did not grow up around there. I heard so many fights going on between "parents" and there children. The only tiome I did see a cop was when the Redskins beat the Cowboys. My daughter was outside talking with her friends from school, they started shooting the cops told them to stand there until they said something ( two girls at the time 5yrs and 14yrs ). If the cops are bad lets go with the rental office, that was the most unhome trained Property manager I have ever seen, the staff was unhome trained as well, and the maintenance......Lord Bless their souls. Those are the most laziest people I have ever met, get to their mother being polite and home trained, but work ethics was highly missed in that house. The roaches eat way more than any one else in the whole house, I mean there is no need to try to hurry up and cook there are still crawling and lurking any and every where....shocking there were no four legged creatures. And the trash smell was unbearable...then some one had the nerve to make a number to in the back hallway, what was that all about. I mean the person saying it is nice was blessed with a real good good building or they work in the office. I highly agree with the first person, run, do not look back, do not pass go.....or you will regret it.

Wow! Im really suprised at reading the last review, I have been living here at Capital Courts for about three years now, i have not experienced any of the issues the last person has. There are many children that live on the property and at times it is very loud, but every time i have reported an issue to the office, my complaint has always been handled promptly. My maintenance concerns have always been minor, but always addressed in a timely manner.... I had one issue with pests in my unit when i first moved in but i reported it to the office and the Community Manger had the exterminator out to my unit within a week, i have not had a problem since. I just didnt want Capital Courts to get a bad rap, cause im very happy where i am living and am planning to stay. Capital Courts is not a bad place to live....

Well hello everyone, I have been living at Capitol Courts for sometime now. i havn't had to many problems here but when I did I just called the office and talk to the Manager and she took care of things right away. I pay my rent on time and I don't have any problems living there. I do beilive that I will be there for another year or two. I'm happy with the people and my apartment builing. I think that my builing is the best one there it is nice and quiet and the people in my builing are very nice. THANKS CAPTIOL COURTS...Ms. Nikki
