Stay Away!!!!!!!

I would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere for an apartment. Management/office staff is in constant turnover and frankly, just plain incompetent. Their posted hours are 8 AM - 5 PM but they will often show up at 8:15 AM and leave at 4:45 PM. Its a 50/50 shot that they will answer the phone so if you want to speak to someone in management, the only guaranteed way is to stop by the office, which is not always an option. They do not return phone calls as they say they will (I've been waiting for over 3 weeks for a return phone call that was suppose to happen the same day I stopped by the office) and they are very rude. One of them even called me a liar to my face when I went to drop off my 5th letter complaining about the noise upstairs. The people upstairs were horrible and the entire building complained to management about them and all they did was send them letters asking them to be more considerate of their neighbors - thanks for nothing! They were given constant late rent notices for 3-4 months (as in they hadn't paid rent for 3-4 months) but management refused to evict them, as long as they got an occasional rent check, that's all management needed to keep them around.
Maintenance is horrible as well. In the summer when our AC unit would not cool to below 75, we were told to learn to live in the warmer temperature. Dishwasher, hot water heater, toilets, etc, almost every major appliance broke down at one time or another and required multiple, constant phone calls, and several weeks to get each one fixed.
So the location is good and rent price is reasonable (high utilities however due to poor insulation, about $170/month) but its just not worth it to put up with all the other crap we've been through living at this place. I'm very much looking forward to my move out day despite the fact that I will be paying significantly higher rent at my new apartment complex.
Updated 4/21/05: So coming home one afternoon at 4:15 PM, I find a notice on my door saying that contractors will be replacing all windows starting at 8 AM THE VERY NEXT DAY and that all furniture needs to be moved at least 4 feet away from all windows...thanks for the advanced notice!! Since the office closes at 5 PM, we rush over there to speak with the property manager who replies "well, no one else in your building is complaining about it." Are you kidding me'' They just put up the notices 10 minutes ago and everyone is at work so of course no one else has complained about it!!! After making it explicitly clear that we will not allow them in our apartment without our presence, she reschedules us for a few days later, the next time the contractors will be back. We take off the entire day to babysit the place so that we can be there when the contractors arrive but they never show. A call to the office at 1 PM reveals management found out about this at 9 AM but failed to inform any of the residents that the contractors would not be showing up on that day thus causing us to miss an entire day of work for no good reason. This perfectly illustrates management's complete incompetence and thus why I would urge anyone considering this complex to stay away!!!!!!
