Stay away!

I regret it.
The construction of the buildings is horrible. I can hear the moans of upstairs neighbors while they have sex. Yes, the floors are that thin. Not to mention the stomping. When one upstairs neighbor moved out (we are on the 3rd upstairs neighbor) and contractors were getting it ready for new tenants, they started at 6 am! No notice was given to me, and the contractors made a hell of a racket.
The outside noise is terrible. I hear 16-wheelers unloading cars for the car dealerships across the street at all hours of the night and morning. Whenever the fan in the bathroom is turned, or the neighbors turn their's on, my computer speakers "pop" if they are on. The kitchen circuit breaker constantly blows.
We opted for the in-apt. washer/dryer (extra $40/month). When we moved in the dryer had no lint catcher attached (which is just a bucket with water in it at the end of the exhaust hose), and the washer water lines would leak. So, we considered them broken and would not use them. Took a month for maintenance to replace dryer and fix hook-up of washer. Despite this the management felt that we should pay the $40 for the month. They said,I pay for the convenience of having them in the apartment, despite them working or not. After I cursed out the property manager, they waived the $40.
One day the storage area door was locked, and my key did not work (This is also the common washer/dryer area). I needed to get to my storage closet and retrieve some items. I called emergency maintenance (as the office was closed), and was told that's not an emergency so wait until the office is open on Monday (it was Saturday evening ).
One rainy night, there was a torrential down-pour/thunderstorm. Our sliding glass balcony door starts leaking from around the frame. The kitchen floor got soaked. I had a bucket full of water. I call emergency maintenance, and I kid-you-not, I was told, "Since it is raining, maintenance will not come out tonight. They'll be there first thing tomorrow morning." I was pissed! The next day, I call the office at 2pm, because maintenance has not come. Finally he shows up. Looks at it, after shooting my girlfriend attitude, and says, "well, I can't do anything since it's not leaking now." Nice, a Catch 22! I point to where it was coming in and the bucket of water directly below it. He starts to argue with me, asking, "well, has it leaked today'"
Me- "No, it hasn't been down-pouring like it was last night."
Him- "oh, it's been raining pretty hard." (It had been drizzling the whole morning.)
Me- "Well, you're worthless. why don't you just leave."
Another time, maintenance entered to change filters and "check" things. Left a dirty air filter in the middle of the floor. Left my lights on (this was the 3rd instance of leaving lights on).
They raise the rent every year(standard way if increasing property value by 10's of 1000's of dollars, easy). I wish I would have researched this place better. Hope this helps possible tenants reconsider.
Oh, the one plus is the new fitness center.
