I moved into Westerlee in June 2007 and have had problems ever since. In July my roommate and I decided that we were leaving once the lease it up. Where do I begin' First, the apartment was disgusting when we moved in. Holes and dents in everything including the walls. The kitchen tile wasn't stuck to the floor. We could literally move the tiles with our feet. The kitchen floor itself was nasty and dirty. The list of requested repairs was so long that it took the maintenance weeks to fix everything and they still are and it's September. The maintenance never finds anything wrong so you have to call them 2 and 3 more times, and oh, they finally find out the problem. Our dryer never heated. It took 3 hours to dry a small load of clothes. Towels took all day to dry. They said, it heated and there was not problem. Then why are my clothes wet after being in the dryer for 2 hours. They finally replaced it after several complaints. Let's not talk about the BGE bill. The dishwasher leaked which is why the kitchen tiles were loose and lumpy. They finally fixed that too and couldn't get that right either. The new dishwasher was so loud that the apartment sounded like a construction site. We had to turn the dishwasher on when we left for work to avoid having to hear the noise. It took another month for them to get that fixed.

The bugs.. yes... spiders and all other kinds of flying things.

The floors and walls are so thin. We can hear the next door neighbor in the shower and the people below us running. How in the hell do you hear people beneath you running'

The maintenance staff is useless so is the management. They know nothing and can't fix anything, who hired them' We have been telling the staff that there is a leak in the kitchen. They've come out twice and claim they hear nothing. Then why does it sound like someone is doing morse code in the kitchen. We're waiting for the floor to cave in.
The rent is ridiculously high for the quality. The buildings should be torn down and rebuilt. The staff should be replaced.

In addition to agreeing 100% with everything the above person mentioned, I'd like to add that it took 10 months for me to get back my security deposit. It was only after I faxed a letter threatening to turn them into the Maryland Real Estate Commission that I finally got someone to respond. Also, I gave someone at the rental office my debit card info so they could automatically draft my rent and, after 1 month of having them take out the draft, they "lost" my info and I got an eviction notice. I then had to take off work early and show them my bank statement to prove I had made the proper arrangements and the error was on their end. Dreadful customer service and crappy conditions=a complex to avoid!

This is ridiculous! Those apartments and staff are wonderful! I don't know what Westerlee apartments you lived in but its not the ones in Catonsville MD

Westerlee apartments are not that bad. Westerlee staff are okay except for the property manager Kathy.I acme in one time and she talked to her staff like they were kids. She is very rude and very short with people. She isnt pleasant at all. Sheena is very nice and helpful. Adrienne is very rude. Lisa is very pleasant too! The maintenance are excellent. They fix things right on ime. The only thing is that I've heard that they have had alot of Bed bug issues!!!!!!The apartments are big and they are very nice. The location is very nice too! The crime rate is very low.

WOW- I have lived here Aug of the year and I couldn't disagree more! Adrianne and Kathy have been wonderful to me since I've been here. Yes, I typed a list of things I didn't like but Adrianne had all that stuff taken care of for me. I don't have a problem with bugs and such. As for the bed bug thing above- that's gross and probably not the problem of the complex. I would have to question the people that owned those beds. I like this place SO FAR!! :)

No...the bedbug problem is a Complex problem. We asked other residents and maintenance staff who confirmed it. They wanted to pin the problem on us but we did our research. We've never seen so many mattresses, beds, couches, and loveseats tossed into dumpsters before. It's definitely a rampent problem. While the staff is capable of being nice and getting things done I have experienced all these problems and more.
