Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I do agree with the most recent person to complain about the smell. There is a very rancid odor in this place. I'm particularly sensitive to cigarette smoke and always feel like it is wafting into our apartment. I hadn't thought about the main ventilation system as the source (I assumed it was from one of the other balconies near mine), but it does persist even when the windows are closed.
I was also looking forward to using the pool, but I'm a bit skeptical that it will be complete for summer 2006. I have a bicycle, but I keep it locked up because theft can occur anywhere!
Recently, I got a new neighbor that blasts the television at all hours. I can't quite make out the dialog, but it is a bit like the recent scene where Tony Sopranos is still in his coma and thinks that the guy in the next hotel room is blasting his television - wah wah wah wah.
I was talked out of signing the 2yr lease when I signed my lease, and I suspect that the rent will skyrocket now that the construction of the high end stores across the street has finished.
Overall, I am happy with the apartment. I do love the location. It will also be nice once the Giant across the street has been rebuilt. It is also close to the crescent trail, the metro, and all the shops your budget can or cannot accomodate.
