The Irene

My name is --------------, Property Manager of The Irene of Chevy Chase. After reviewing the other comments about this building, I feel it necessary to disclose my honest thoughs as well. Please read this entire message. Some of these comments are old (past management) and surely may have been valid in the past. The fact is that The Irene's staff, managment and maintenance is a quality team that has so much pride in where we work. I can honestly say that we do everything we can for our residents. First of all, let me tell you a bit about The Irene. Built in 1966, The Irene remains today one of the most desirable addresses in Washington. The building has a Chevy Chase address, but sits 3 blocks away from northwest D.C. on Wisconsin Ave. Within just 5 blocks of the building, upscale shopping and dining are one of the capstones of the community. Nieman Marcus, Saks 5th Ave., Cartier, Versace, Maggiano's name a few. The amenities are great: rooftop sundeck, tennis courts and swimming pools (that's right pool_s_)! 24 hour front desk, fitness center and sitting room, doormen at your service, valet, continental breakfast and the list goes on. The apartments are some of the largest in Washington. Inside the units are nine foot ceilings and renovated kitchens. Closet space is immaculate! A new fire alarm system, hallway sprinkler system, elevator modernization, lobby and hallway renovation are a few projects we've undertaken in order to keep The Irene projecting the modern, quality image it has historically presented. The Irene is listed in the Smithsonian's Washington Best Addresses and you can sense the elegence when you are in side. I believe I've said enough. I'll say one more thing. Before you rule out The Irene, come and see the size of the apartments and quality and pride of the management team.... we would love to have you here.
