The building, like many residents, is past prime

When we moved in to the Irene we had a bad feeling about the place but were attracted to the large amount of space. The bad feeling came from management------- is a horror. She is offensive, condescending, and generally not helpful in the least. When we moved in, we figured we wouldn t have to deal with her so no harm. Well, she gave away our parking spot without telling us, dismissed our first, second and third, complaints about the apartment smelling like smoke, and has been kind of nasty. She, and the rest of the staff, is more concerned about the complaints of elderly residents or diplomats (they gave our spot away to a diplomat) than the rest of the population. Maybe it is because the older residents have the time to hang around the lobby all day to complain. But, we ve been chastised by ----- and other staff members for egregious acts such as carrying boxes in the front door (not moving in but bringing in some plants or some gifts) instead of using the loading dock and entering the building with a bicycle. In a little more than a year, we ve had at least 8 leaks in our apartment. They seem to spend their money on painting the elevator doors and not on routine maintenance. We have to add about fifteen minutes to anything we do because of the elevators and the problems in the garage. Most of the people at the front desk are friendly. But, we received a package about seven months after it was delivered. We asked the vendor about what happened and got a new package. But we routinely asked the front desk if it was there and the constant answer was we didn t get a delivery. Finally, we received another delivery and were told we had another package. A package taller than me sat there for almost seven months undelivered. I ll echo the comments about the age of the residents. It can be frustrating at times but live and let live. The only time it really becomes an issue is as a safety issue in the parking garage. I ve never used the shuttle and we don t need help with groceries so we probably pay for conveniences more suited to the aged. The apartment space is nice and the area is convenient. We are very glad to be leaving. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
