I will be completely honest and not exagerate anything. The A/C units in our apt were easily from the 70's. They are very old and rusty. Ours had duct tape and newspaper holding the pipes and insulation to it. The unit never got the apt cold and ran our electric bill to over 400 dollars. Repeated calls to the "maintence" dept only got the unit recharged, not repaired. Less than 2 weeks later, the AC was blowing warm air. You will also find that the windows dont seal and all the lovely local insects will be more than happy to come and keep you company. Spiders, ants, bees, silver fish and SCARY SCARY stuff awaits you. We have had various water leaks, only to have our drywall ripped down, the leaky pipe clamped (along with other rotted clamps) and then left. No one has since repaired our damaged walls/ceilings. You have 0 control over any of the heating and air conditioning. You will be sleeping on the floor in the summer and shivering in the winter. The leasing staff are rude and think that they run some ultra elite apartment complex. If you have any complaints or questions, they will not help you. The hallways have poor lighting and NONE of the outter doors lock. The bathroom and kitchens are decorated in horrible colors, purple, pink, puke green..etc. Our shower doors were mounted upside down, allowing water to seep out and dampen the floor. The toilet took 20 minutes to refill after flushing, making you sit around waiting before you can finish your business. The sliding glass door has come off its rusted tracks. The storage closet is a spider's dream home. At 7am, you will be awoken by the landscaping crew (they do a good job though) as they ride right past your window. No sleeping in for YOU!!! Twice our cable TV has been cut by people outside (exposed cable pedistal). Overall, the apts could be very nice as they are sturdy and well built, but the lazy attitude of the staff and 30 year old interior design's hinder it.
