Okay, I have read all the reviews about Deertree and feel I must put my 2 cents in. I have lived there off and on since 1993. Deertree has been a great place to live with exception to a two -three year period (like late 01 up to spring 04) under a HORRIBLE/vile manager named Tamara Lancaster. Prior to her, the staff was wonderful. Mary, Cindy and Kim were always very friendly, careing and professional. I can't say that I never had any problems, but it was always taken care of quickly and professionally...that is until Tamara came there. It was downhill from there. The communty began falling apart, drugs, crime etc. I have even seen her chase down residents in the community and scream obscenities at them and get into physical altercations. Very white trash/Jerry Springer type. Even the office staff began turning sour and minserable. I hear that the company finally got rid of her and brought back Kim. Smart move. I can say that whenever I recieved my lease renewal I always got options to upgrade my apartment. and still paid less in rent then the new people. I also found rent increases negotiable. I still have friends that live there and they say the communtiy is already improving back to the friendly communtiy that I remember. They do allow cats and larger dogs, have an awesome pool and a playground. Parking can be very tough at night. Sorry about the long review. I just had a lot to say.
