Bad place to live

Hunt Club is not a good place to live period. It is not well maintained, management is very unresponsive to problems, there are many annoying neighbors, and the low rent does not make up for it.
I was told before I moved in that my carpet would be replaced if it was at all worn. "I have a very high standard" the manager told me. Wrong. My carpet was so old that the fibers are permanently flattened. It looked clean but was crunchy in a lot of places. The closet doors didn't work right. Called maintenance when one fell off. It was put back on, minus the bottom bracket so it just flopped around. Maintenance was performed days, sometimes over a week after the first call. One time I waited over a week from the first call and had called three more times and even stopped by the next weekend. Yelling helped motivate them a bit.
The AC was very weak. It would run constantly and still not be able to get the apartment under 80 when it was 90 outside. Very high summer electricity bills for an 80 degree AC. The furnace worked fine though.
The grounds were always trashy. I can't blame management for that. Some of my neighbors would just toss trash off their balconies. The door to my building was broken twice which management hastily (and poorly) put back together.
Management threatened to evict my neighbors for their all night parties. The parties did quiet down after that. Cops were called once because of an argument over cab fare. That was in the summer of 2002.
I wish I had looked more before I chose Hunt Club and I'm glad that I no longer live there.
