Nice place to live

I?ve been at Rossbrooke for 2 years. It has been a good experience so far.

The neighbors are nice. As a female living by herself, I feel safe. The buildings are locked, and there are no problems with parking on my street (I noticed that parking was often tighter on a friend?s street in the same neigborhood but you could stil find a space relatively close) The lighting could be a little better, but the apartments are right next to the parking lot so don?t have to walk far or up a long sidewalk.

My only "complaints" would be that there?s only 1 washer and 1 dryer in each building and there are 14 apartments so it can be inconvient trying to get laundry done on a tight schedule with having to wait for the machines. Also, the appliances are older (the lovely golden yellow color of the 70s) but they work.

Maintenance is great. Responds the same day to calls. One other concern - during the winter, I?ve noticed that salt wasn?t put on the ice on sidewalks - made for some trecherous conditions trying to get in and out of the building.

Depending on where your apartment is (i.e., bottom floor near main door as opposed to an apt in the back on top floors, etc.), you can hear the neighbors at times, but I don?t know of many apartments where you can?t and it depends on how noisy your neighbors are. There isn't much soundproofing between apartment buildings - I can hear my neighbor in the next bldg whose apt is attached to mine - I've heard them talking and well, um, doing other things (if you know what I mean).

I?ve noticed that the area where the townhouses are there are more children and it?s more noisy. I live on a side street and don?t hear many outside noises, but my friend lived with his apartment on the back side facing the main street with the townhouses across the street and often could hear children playing, car alarms, etc. It depends on what noise you can live with and where your apartment building is located.

The buildings are well-mainted and clean. The inside foyers are carpeted. I haven?t had any problems with roaches, rats, mice, etc. An occasional bug shows up but I live on the ground floor so it?s inevitable but only occasionally so not a problem at all. The trash containers are at the end of the street away from the buildings. I often see the maintenance people sweeping parking lots and picking up litter.

So far satisfied especially for the amount of the rent - the rent isn?t high and the quality is good.
