My husband, daughter and I moved into Steeplechase in April of 2005. Since we have lived there is has been one problem after another. Maintenance is horrible, the turn around may be quick but they have to keep coming back to fix the same thing because they do a poor job. We live on the third floor and there was a leak from the roof which damaged the wall when you first walk in the apartment. Of course this happened around midnight and they say on the after hours message that a water leak is an emergency. I would never have known because nobody responded to the call. After they came out to assess the damage the next day it took them several weeks and several requests to fix the problem. Meanwhile mold started to grow which they said was just discoloration and definitely not mold. Now the mold/discoloration has come back. Also our toilet has been fixed three or four times because it keeps running and it is now doing it again. I also called the office about a suspicious person that I saw on the grounds and I was told that it was probably something innocent and if I felt that uncomfortable then I should have called the police. The office staff doesn't care about the residents after they sign the lease. They are very nice to you when you are interested in possibly renting but once you sign the lease and move it you and your problems don't matter. They are not family friendly and the speeding problem on Gelding Drive is terrible. I have taken that concern to the property manager to no avail. If I were you I would seriously stay away from Steeplechase.

lots of mold problems in these buildings due to shoddy work. I had mold as well as neighbor upstairs....they had to remove the walls and replace the drywall and now the floor squeaks so loud I am woken from a sound sleep. I have to stay in a hotel once a week to sleep. They will do NOTHING about it saying I should take sleeping pills or use ear plugs. They are the most ignorant people after you move in. I do not let my little one play outside for fear of being hit but they do nothing. Forgot to pay water bill once and it was late and now I am hounded before it is due. Nothing is an emergency.
