3 Yr. Resident - Wouldn't recommend - rising crime

I am a current resident that will not be renewing my lease. More than anything, I am disappointed in the lack of care the new management company seems to place in its residents. In my area, there have been a rash of crimes and my neighbors have had packages and other personal items stolen, vehicles damaged or vandalized, etc.
I think the hardest thing about the situation for me as a resident, is that the best response I can get out of management is "What do you expect us to do about it'." Our area seems to also have alot of transiants walking through our parking lot. When this issue was mentioned to management they said that 1) they were aware of the problem, however request for a fence is 2) "It's not in the budget for this year, maybe next year."
On the note of maintanence - I'll use another users comments, because they are 100% on the ball with this: "When Town & Country owned the property we had EXCELLENT maintenance, many of the very good maintenance people quit because of lower wages offered from the new management, some were fired because of disagreement with the property manager." The result - It took two weeks for my washer and dryer to be fixed. Other people can disagree (because they will), but that has been my experience and isn't this comment box supposed to be based on our individual experiences and not an 100% idealic sales pitch'
The only plus of the property that truly is above average are the grounds, which are always well maintained.
All and all I think Steeplechase Apartments were once a very nice place to live (under the old management) and if you don't have anything stolen, vandalized or any repairs needed in your apartment,it may seem like a decent place to live. The problem being - when things get stolen or property is damaged, it costs the residents and I'm already paying more rent for: less respect towards my personal property, less care towards issues that affect myself and other residents, and less response time on items inside my apartment. I don't agree. We have been there for almost three years and have never had a problem with crim or maintenance. They always come the same day I request. it.

you are a very rare case then lovemyapt2. I have waited 6 months for water leaks and mold to be fixed.
