This place is terrible, DON'T MOVE HERE

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2005

I lived there for about two and a half years. As stated by others, the maintanence people respond relatively quickly (except for the time my key broke in the door when I lived in Rossbrooke and waited like 3 hours for someone to come, also owned by Henderson Webb), but they don't really fix things right sometimes. There were several times that i had to call them to fix my heat. Also as stated previously, the insulation ABSOLUTELY SUCKS in the winter time and in the summer time. The windows are absolute trash. You could literally hold a candle about 5 feet from the window in the winter time and it will get blown out from the wind coming through the cheap windows. The second that the heat or a/c goes off, it has to immediately turn back on because the insulation is so poor. In the summer time, you absolutely MUST leave the a/c on 24 hours a day, or the apartment will only get RELATIVELY COOL by the NEXT MORNING!!!!

One time my rent check got lost in the mail and I came home to a note on my door, ordering me to appear to court (the DAY AFTER rent was due!!) and that I was being evicted. Now I would understand this if I was a habitual offender on this, but ONE TIME''' Come on. At that point I had lived in Henderson Webb apartments for over 2 and a half years, NEVER being late previously. They also forced me to pay the court fees (which we didn't even go to after they got their check!!!) which were like $50 or something.

Now to really bad part...
I was forced to move out in ONE DAY. They sent me the letter asking if I was moving out (3 months ahead of time they send you a letter saying the will renew your lease if you don't say you're not staying) and I replied that I was in fact moving out. A month and a half later, things changed and I need to stay, so I sent another letter saying that I wanted to stay. I never recieved anything saying that they got it (I sent it to the main office, Henderson Webb, not the leasing office).

Now I figured it wouldn't be such a big deal if they didn't get it because people around me were moving out left and right (shocker, right') so they wouldn't rent my apartment. I could see in the windows that most of my neighbors had moved because there wasn't anything in most of the apartments.
So about 2 weeks before I had to move, I called the main office (Henderson Webb) asking if they recieved my letter. They said that no, they hadn't and that my apartment had not been rented by anyone else so it wouldn't be a big deal and to just send another letter. So I sent another letter saying I was staying, which once I again I didn't get any response. So on Saturday, January 29th I called the leasing office (the main office wasn't open on Saturday) to make sure that they knew I was staying because I was set to move out originally on January 31st, which was Monday. I was then told that the apartment had been rented, they had no record of me talking to the main office (Henderson Webb) and that I needed to move out by Monday. I told them that this was ridiculous and there are many apartments around me that were empty. They said that this is the exact apartment that she wanted (I mean come on, it was a simple one bedroom apartment, nothing special) and they could call her and ask her if she would choose a different one, but she didn't speak English!! So they call her, of course she isn't home and they need to call her back. Over the course of the next two days (they were open on Sunday) I called the leasing office every couple of hours for any updates and was eventually very rudely told that "it wasn't their fault, it was out of their hands and there was nothing they could do if she didn't call back." Instead of waiting until Monday evening for her to "call back" and me to find out at the VERY last minute that I had to move, I had to take Monday off of work, drive 30 miles to get a UHaul truck, spend the ENTIRE DAY packing up my apartment and moving (which wasn't ready in the least bit due to the fact that I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS MOVING!!!!!!). The real kicker is when I went to the leasing office at 5 PM to return my key (after I propped the door open because I still had another 7 hours worth of work to do!!!) they said, "Oh, well she just called back too." I said bull@#$)(*#@$)(*W#$)(*&W#$P*(U she did!!!! You are liars!!! What a bunch of jerks!!!!!!!! The worst part was that I had agreed to pay $100 MORE PER MONTH than the original lease price was for renewing!!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you want to be treated like a criminal and then thrown out of your apartment without knowing!!!!!!
