I've been living here for 4 months and have decided to move because I cannot afford the rent. $875 for an efficiency! The area is decent, a typical college town. The place is cleaned every day by the management. My air conditioner leaks water into the carpet (not severe) and despite my maintence request, it was not fixed so I just keep a small pan under it and that does the trick. Noise is bad only on weekends. Students have parties which flow into the halls and disrupt other residents. Thankfully, I cannot hear my neighbors, the sound only penetrates the door. Manager is often helpful but one time removed a late rent fee and the next time did not (dispite a legitimate excuse). She is a bit eccentric. The apartment is spacious and has four large windows (single pane glass, which would not make me feel safe if I lived on the ground floor). Ample closet and pantry space!!! After the first weekend I moved in I discovered GIGANTIC holes in the hallway walls. I cannot understand how or why someone could be so distructive. These holes were not for maintenece either, but they were fixed within a week. If you have the money and want to be really close to UMD, it is great. If location is not important, and you are not a student, keep looking.
