I'm a little surprised by the other comments here; I've found this place to be pretty reasonable, and the other tenants to be the biggest problem. If you can't stand drunk neighbors in the halls, teeth-rattling bass at 4 a.m. Saturday, and false fire alarms while the never-lived-away-from-home crowd settles in and learns not to act like idiots, you might not like this place.

Good stuff: apartment was clean when I moved in, maintenance requests are taken care of in a day or two (a week is the longest I've waited), PETS are allowed for a reasonable rate, the downstairs office takes packages for you, lets you use their fax, etc. Nice big windows, and for being so close to the university, the rent could be worse.

Bad stuff: these are old apartments, and stuff breaks -- plumbing, electric, and so on is off more than it should be, although they generally give you advance notice and have whatever-it-is turned off *after* 9 a.m. (so you can shower, etc) and on before 2 p.m. the same day, in my experience. The manager will hold you to the letter of the law, but if you're an experienced renter and know how to get everything in writing, you shouldn't have a problem there. The tenants, as I've mentioned, can be obnoxious, and certain upkeep (smells from the trash chute, vandalism the tenants do, safety lights in the parking area) should be taken care of faster.

It's kind of a bare-bones existence, but for the square footage and the nice big windows, the generous pet policy and the location next to the university, honestly, it's not too bad.
