I've lived in the GG for almost a year now, and they are great. Clean, spacious, quiet. The only problems I have ever had, which are very minor, are that 1) In the summer and after a fresh coat of paint, the windows stick down or up; maintenance fixed that quickly. 2) Slight bit of mold in the bathroom, which they just painted over (I'm sure a total eradication would mean taking the walls out). 3) The bathroom doesn't actually have a fan so it gets wet, even with the window open, causing aforementioned mold. 4) My rent check was lost once, which took several weeks to straighten out, and a few weeks ago, the rent checks in the drop box weren't picked up so everyone who used it got a court/eviction notice; problem was solved in 2 days and no one had to appear in court. Maintenance has always responded immediately to my requests, and the office staff is always very courteous and helpful. They got a five-star community rating a couple years ago and want to keep it. I locked myself out twice, and someone came within 5 minutes each time to let me in. The grounds are nicely maintained and the community is safe and well-lit. Visitor parking is a problem, as there are only a few spaces, and if your roommate uses the visitor permit for his/her car, your guests are relegated to the always-full street, or to parking on campus and walking. All utilities are included, so the rent is a great deal, especially for being so close to campus. There aren't too many noisy undergrads around, although there are some Knox Boxes across the street that occasionally hold loud parties and shoot off fireworks - only during warm weather though. Since neighbors are all graduate students, they're all pretty quiet, none of the thumping-bass-through-the-walls or stomping around at ungodly hours, like you can have in other complexes.
