The ceiling fell on me

I do not recommend this place for three reasons.
1) When I moved in they gave us the wrong address (town and zip code were for Grad Hills which is another town) on the confirmation letter and on the lease even after I asked if it was right. I was assured that it was and it was only after I didn't get mail for two weeks that I discovered that I was in fact given the wrong address. When I complained that the address was wrong and I was majorly inconvenienced (I had changed my mail, credit cards, drive's license, student loan info, etc) all they said was, "Oops. Must have been the new girl". I asked for a free month of rent and they refused. They told me they would pay me for the package I hadf to have reshipped, but months and many emails, calls, and visits later, I still have not been reimbursed. They never gave me a new lease with the correct address (there must be something illegal about not having a correct lease, which makes me nervous).
2)When we first moved in three times I was stuck IN the apartment because the deadbolt wouldn't disengage. Each time I called the office to ask them to send someone to let me out. I was told someone would be over right away and no one ever came. I had to wait for my boyfriend to come home. He was able to enter with the key no problem. That is officially a fire hazard that I could not get out of my place and they only fixed it when I told them that I would call the fire department.
3) My bathroom ceiling developed a huge crack over the tub. I called the office the minute I saw it because it was a very large crack that appeared suddenly (sign of a water leak). No one came that whole day. That night when I was showering the drywall fell on me. I jumped out to watch all of the wood of the ceiling fall into the tub and toilet. Again I called the office. Someone came the next day to clean up the mess and patched the hole two days later. The patch that was installed was installed too early for the wet wood that hadn't fallen to dry, so there is all kinds of horrendous mold that is growing up in there. I can smell it.

Wow. Sorry for your experience. But seriously you want a months rent free for the wrong address??? It was an honest mistake (so it sounds like) They DEFINATELY should reimburse you for the package however. If you don't get answers call the home/corporate office. That worked for me. Did the fire company end up fixing your deadbolt or the managemet? Just curious. By the way, welcome to hell! My lease is over in one month and I can't wait!

I want to say upfront that this is not a place for me to badmouth anyone or air negativity. It just so happens that what has happened to me is negative. I'm writing down honestly what has happened to me so people who are looking to move in and want to know about the place is like can have something to go off of. This is what happened to me. I can't speak for anyone else's experience. I have tried very hard to keep my feelings out of these posts and relay only the facts. I wanted a month of rent because it took me months and countless, countless hours to fix all the places where I now had the wrong address such as at the MVA, passport, credit cards, utilities, etc. Having the wrong address wasn't just a nuisance, it really was a big deal to fix AND my lease was never fixed. I'm still finding places where my address is wrong. I had bills that I never got that had I not gone and paid them online would have effected my credit. The deadbolt was fixed by maintenance after I threatened them with having the fire company come out. The whole lock/door handle thing needed to be replaced. That explains why the dining room window was pushed out when we moved in. Former tenants must have pushed it out to get out when they were locked in.
