I have posted here before, however that was a while ago, and many new things happend since then. Many new people moved in and some people moved out I guess they finished their year or something. Fire alarms are being pulled as the previous person stated, however, sometimes its not once a month, its like 2-3 sometimes, and of course its around 1-3am. Now these days, I don't even go outside, I just sleep it through if the alarm goes off in 5-10min, then its good, longer then that, it could be an actual alarm. Management office have been slacking off. One time late saterday (around 2am) I was going to the apartment, after parking my car and walking to the door, I saw some people from the townhouse's throw beer bottles across the fence into the parking lot, almost hitting cars (they prob did hit cars earlier). I called up the building security, nothing happend, I told them about the issue the next day, nothing happend. No action was taken. Hell I told them what door they were at. I saw them came out of one of the house's and I could identify. No action was taken. Poor management now, about the A/C, I have had no problems. But the parking lot has gotten worse. they re-painted the lot, and the spaces is a lot smaller, so small everyone parks slanted, makeing the other parking spots smaller that you can't park there without hitting the other car when you open the door. I have changed my view since my last post. I strongly don't recommend this apartment.

Another note, on some of my other posts, have stated, some doors are broken and can just be opened, and most non residents know the code to get in the building. Not very secure like The View. Security Camera's in my opinion do not work, there is a camera next to a door that have been hit to an angle that nothing can be visible in that camera, if it has been working they would of noticed and fixed the problem, or they are just to lazy and don't bother. The Key FOB reading in the front of the building (not the parking door, the front door) is broken, and have been broken for a while now. At the moment it's fall semester I believe, so some people have said there is very little noise, however I have noticed quite a bit of noise, and if that does not bother you, the Fire Alarm sure will, as I said I do not goto University of MD, I work full time, and wakening up at 3am is not making me happy at all. I can't believe nobody posted about this, but the Elevator is slow as hell, you can get to the 5th floor using the stairs before the elevator gets there, pretty sad. -MoeenD (one post per user? that is stupid) |

Another thing, 8/17/06 a day later from my other post. Someone has pulled the alarm at 3:00am-3:10am around there. It was a false alarm, I also have found that when this person does the prank alarms its usually around the same time. I can't belive he hasn't been caught it.

Again on 8/29/06 around 2:30am the fire alarm was pulled. For several min this time, after it went off, someone pulled it again shortly after that, close to 3am it never came back on. A lot of people are not takeing the alarm serously anymore, I have seen less and less people go outside now.

Sometime around 9/06/06 they changed parking permits, and on one of the doors, they did not have a notice. I also have not recived a slip under my door telling me about the new permit. They kept saying my roomate took it, however I live on my own, no roomate. My car was towed and I had to walk roughly 30min to the towing company, they said it will cost $150 in cash. I asked why not credit card? they replied with "people come in with cards that do not belong to them" arnt they supposed to check for ID before they charge your card? Well after walking around for 2hrs trying to find an ATM machine, I found one at a federal building roughly around 40min walk total or so. gave them the cash, and left. I am planning to move out of Parkside. There are many cars that were guests and they were towed away. If your planning to have guests, make sure they take a bus or something, since nobody but residents can park there. One more thing, the Security camera seems to have been fixed... but the door has not, I can just pull it open still. Also the 3rd floor and some others, people have made big holes in the walls and some have stole the glass plate that are on the lights in the hallways. since this is the begginning of the new month, I expect the fire alarm to be pulled again. |

Sometime last month the alarm was pulled again. The Security camera that was outside the broken door has been hit makeing it postion down to the ground. Also on the stairwell people tend to pee there. I have seen vomit, piss, beer cans and cigg butts. Sometime ago I have seen lots of egg's, I assume people throw them out the window for fun? Of course most of the problems are not the building's fault, its the people who live in them. I have talked to one of the workers for the building, I asked him if the security camera's work, he said sometimes, but most of the time, they do not, because they do not change the tape for the camera's feed when they are supposed to. |

Management are the meanest ladies around. Apts are a good size for the amount. However, management is lousy. Car got window smashed. The "security gate" doesn't work. Key fobs break. A/C barely works (and I've lived in 3 different apartments here). However, probably better deal than the View. You can have parties without too many people bothering you. Make sure you have a permit - or you will get towed and then have 5 big black guys try to kill you when you get your car back.
