I've been here a couple of months now. I'm subletting, so I dont really know anything about management since I haven't had to deal with them, but I've heard they are kind of unpleasant.
Good things:
-nice enough rooms
-good kitchens, though not a lot of cabinet space
-very close to metro, metro bus, etc

Not so good things:
-slow drains
never leave the water running while you brush your teeth, or it will overflow, and if you like long showers, prepare to have a foot of water at your feet.
-teeny bathrooms
-GROSS building
vandalized, smells like urine in the stairwells, walls and hallways cracked or with holes in them. The ceiling in a hall on the first floor got a leak the first week i was here. Ceiling tiles fell in, carpet was soaked, etc. It doesnt leak anymore, but there are still holes in the ceiling to this day, the carpet has visible mold on it, the whole hallway reeks. How they think we dont notice that no one takes care of these things, I'll never know. There is an exercise room, but unless you have a horrible cold, or have lost your sense of smell some other way, dont even try to brave it. Really.
-college students
this should be under pros, because its nice to live with other college students, get to know people, etc, right' Not so much here. There ARE nice people, but there are also the stereotypical -------s who give college students a bad name. Loud parties, drunken vandalism, vomit in halls and elevators, etc. are not uncommon. At all. Nor is having the fire alarm pulled several times in a night. Its happened 9 times total in the 2 months ive been here. Some jerkoff thinks its funny. I can tell you that at 12:30, 2am, and 4am...it is not. Be prepared.
-sketchy area
its not bad during the day, but i wouldnt suggest any women going anywhere by themselves at night, especially if you arent driving there. I've had a few problems just walking the one block from the bus stop. I even had to duck into the mcdonalds one night because this guy was going to follow me home. They told him to leave. Its a livable area as long as you are very smart about what you are doing. Pepper spray isnt a bad idea either.
All in all, its livable as long as you know what you're getting into. Dont come with high hopes and you wont be disappointed.
