Biggest problem: infested with bugs and mice

As the title suggests, my biggest problem was pests. I could never get rid of them for more than a few months at a time. I saw cockroaches (big ones), mice, and silverfish. The mice were the hardest to get rid of. The pest control people they hired just gave us glue traps, which did not work. We had to go out and buy our own electric traps from Home Depot. But sure enough, a few months later, more mice would pop up. The maintenance people tried to seal holes up, but it didn't work. They just kept coming back. It was disgusting.
Another problem I had was noise. The walls weren't too thin, but the neighbors were simply too loud. This is a building where a lot of college kids and twenty-somethings live, and they're very inconsiderate regarding noise level on their stereos and TVs.
Also, it just seemed like they didn't care about keeping up the place. When they decided it was time to change the colors of the walls or redecorate the elevators, they hired the absolute cheapest people they could find. They got what they paid for, because it ended up looking very sloppy.
As far as positives go, the location is nice, because it's right next to the beltway, I-95, a grocery store, Mamma Lucia's, and Ikea. It's also a short drive to Buddy Attick park, which is a really nice local park for walk, running, etc. Utilities are included in the rent, which makes things simpler. Bathroom mirrors are very big.
I don't recommend living here for the reasons above. The pests were the main issue.

You know, after I wrote my review of the apartment in November, I returned from Thanksgiving break to discover that we had mice also! I told the employees about the issue and they attempted to seal holes behind the stove and refrigerator. However, the mice were still getting into the apartment from the same location they supposedly sealed. We told them multiple times about holes behind the stove and the cracks under our door which, after 7 maintenance requests that began in August, STILL has not been fixed. We caught 2 mice and haven't seen more yet...

I was in 9308 (a different highrise). We bought black traps that shock the mice when they go inside.

Are you in the highrise (9314)? That's the building I lived and had a mouse in my apartment and was shocked that a community of that stature has mice. After a year, I moved into a garden apartment, I requested maintenace to come in and plug holes (if any). I was home when the stove was pulled out; got on the floor and watched as the tech. plugged a hole under the dishwasher, plugged holes under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Prior to that, I plugged anything that looked or felt like a hole. I could hear the mice in the walls picking trying to get in--I would bang on the walls. I purchased an electronic device from Home Depot as well. What type of electronic device did you purchased from home depot?
