Towers of Westchester Park

beware, apt is falling apart From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/10/2004 Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2005   Having lived in several apartments in the area ie, College Park Towers, the Seville, University Square, here and having seen several other apartments, I'd say the Towers of Westchester Park are the best in the area. While rent has gone up a lot in the past 3 years that I've been here, I think that is true for all apartments in the area. The grounds are kept very well and I find it to be very quiet. They have a small gym, nothing too fancy, but also have a pool right on the property. Greenbelt state Park is touching the property so you can go hiking if you'd like. It is very close to the University of Maryland, nearby shopping centers, the metro and 495/295. Peter, the landlord in 6200 is much better than the previous landlord they had and I have no complaints whatsoever with him. The only problem I have with the apartment is that it's getting old so they tend to have to do repairs every now and then like turning off the water from 9-5 and coming into your apartment to fix leaky pipes. While it is a nuisance I think it's well worth it compared to what you have to deal with at other apartments. 10/10/04- I've decided to lower my rating due to the terrible parking problem that suddenly has come up. 2/23/05- Disaster has struck apparently. The apartment complex had several apartments that got flooded with water after a pipe burst. It took them over 1 1/2 hours to finally turn off the water so peoples' apartments would stop being flooded. From what I heard, the water was pouring out of the ceilings! I was afraid something like this might happen since they have really old pipes in the apartment complex that desperately need to be replaced. In addition they now have started painting the building, this really awful dark looking color which make the hallways look like dungeons.
